The role of Disability Advisor can accommodate a flexible work schedule, and is considered an important addition to the existing selection of health services offered by the provider going forward.

You’ll be joining an organisation that prides itself on protecting it’s clients through effective and current best practice, and is committed to the highest levels of satisfaction.  Led by an experienced management team, you’ll be encouraged to ensure you are up to date on all necessary legislation and supported to make the right decisions when it comes to advising our clients and customers.

We anticipate that you’ll be involved with the following areas of support :-

  • Acting as a focus point for queries relating to supporting individuals with suspected or confirmed disabilities that come under the Equalities Act 2010
  • Supporting the line manager and individuals in identifying if an assessment is required and via which provider

  • Managing personal data and ensuring that individuals consent is gained

  • Interpreting reports from professional bodies

  • Actively manage any recommendations that come out of an assessment that can be supported within the workplace

  • Supporting the line managers and individuals in putting the reasonable adjustments in place

  • Acting as the focal point for any government funding relating adjustments

  • Providing expert support to groups set up to delivery the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy

  • Provide the Case Management team with expert advice and support during disability related cases (often complex)

  • Developing relationships with external agencies (such as charities, equipment suppliers, support workers, funding bodies)

  • Providing statistics on the services utilised to agreed data requirements

To get involved and take up this rewarding role within our team, you’ll offer a degree standard (or equivalent) level of education and be a confident communicator, with the ability to deal with a wide range of people.  

  • It’s important that you can show substantial experience or exposure to disability related support in a prior role or company; plus an awareness of relevant legislation.
  • You’ll display excellent organisational skills, enjoy planning and thrive in a busy environment.

  • Demonstrating a flexible attitude and willingness to support your colleagues, you’ll also be a great problem solver.
